I don't think Sullivan could have kept him off the ice. Joe realizes that this would be his last chance in a looooong time to get the cup and his presence alone helped us a little bit.
If this was the regular season he would be on the IR list and probably not even working out with the team. He was a warrior for even dressing up and I wish the media would have just gotten off his back as they didn't even know what was wrong with him.
