1. well, you're saying that saying that he only wants the "biggest and best fights atm," and there's no bigger fight for him than Machida. You can't have it both ways.
2. And they should. I don't fault that logic, but I see Machida as someone who would fight anyone to prove he's the best in the world (see him wanting to fight Lesnar.)
3. It could, or it could be end in a highlight reel knockout. Only way to be sure is for them to get it done.
Well, I could mention how Floyd Mayweather dominates opponents, but won't fight the upper echelon in his division, but that'd just be apples to oranges. I may be talking shit saying that Silva is afraid of Hendo, but why not just say "I'll fight you" and have Dana make it happen? Will the outcome be different? Who knows.
At the same time though, I consider best lb for lb to be GSP.
