I don't even start playing versus til I beat the game with everyone, so I at least have an idea as to how a character plays, and what their moves are when I do play someone. I'm never merely pressing buttons.
Obviously getting better at each individual charactertakes longer this way, but I don't care. It's boring to me, to pick from only a handful of characters when there are so many available.
Each character is a different way to enjoy the game. And I don't feel like restricting that enjoyment to only some characters.
