Things that haven't been brought up:
1. Wigga is Aussie. Prices may or may not be the same down under.
2. For certain games, you're gonna have to import them, Wigga. You know how your government hates blood ang gore or violence or anything fun in a videogame. Talk to Hasney, he knows more about region codes and gaming than I do.
3. XBox Live
does cost money but the servers are maintained by Microsoft, and not the individual game companies. This makes it easier to have stable connections and it means that no matter how old a game is you can still play online. There's no profit in a game company trying to maintain servers for games that don't sell a lot anymore. Plus, it really only works out to a few dollars a month. And if you don't play online, you can still use a silver account for downloads and such.
4. Multiplatform games tend to run better on the 360, since the PS3 has a bit of a hardware flaw that prevents it for reaching its full potential. That's the graphics edge damninator was talking about. Problem is that it's not always a graphical issue. Sometimes it's sluggish gameplay. Depends on the game, really.
5. If you're looking to play TPWWers, most of us have 360s. Check the thread stickied at the top to see who has what.
6. 360 has way more games in general. And a lot of them are cheap now or are at full on bargain bin prices, but that's true of both consoles. Apparent;y the PS3 is the console for sports titles, but the 360 has the FIFA series and Pro Evolution Soccer/Winning Eleven series, and a new Ashes Cricket game too. Dunno if American sports will interest you much.
7. 360 is backwards compatible with any original XBox title on
this list. Early PS3s were compatible with PS2 games, but later ones are not. I have heard that an update was coming that would make newer PS3s backward compatible too, but I cannot confirm.
8. PS3s use standard SATA hard drives. You can pop the old one out and put a much bigger capacity one in if you like. You can also actually view the internet on a PS3. 360s use proprietary hard drives and have Netflix in America and Sky in the UK.
9. You don't necessarily need the wireless adapter for the 360. You could just run ethernet cable from your modem or router to your system.
10. You said you liked Gran Turismo 4? PS3 has Gran Turismo 5 Prologue out now with the full Gran Turismo 5 out next year, and 360 has Forza Motorsport 2 (for really cheap in most stores now) and Forza Motorsport 3, which just came out.
