I remember doing a number of shows with Joey back when he was still dating Mickie James. He ALWAYS had a drug problem, as did his partner Christian York who called me one night at like 2 in the morning in some sort of stupor from the previous evening. He was totally fine just several hours before, and then totally out of it.

They were always looking for something. I don't think Christian was as bad as Joey, but he certainly was NOT innocent either. Joey was let out of WWE by Vince McMahon himself according to what I remember everyone saying - which is pretty strong stuff.

They were both TREMENDOUS talents, with a few weak points, but great nonetheless. They just needed to get their shit straight. From what I've heard, they both did, but unfortunately not in time for their careers.
