The new models are still RROD prone, just far less so.
I mean, it's not the issue some make it out to be, but it is still an issue and should probably be taken as a factor. The thing is, with a 3 year warranty against it, it's definitely less threatening than it was. And faster turnaround.
But my buddy has had a console for just over a year, and it RRODed on him. The newer models are not immune. They are, however, safer. The PS3 is
still safer hardware.
All that being said, I'd probably still get a 360 over a PS3 if I had it to do over, but then, I also bought two or three (Can't remember) PS2s, as well.
