Jets CB Donald Strickland vowed retaliation against Patriots OL Mark LeVoir for what he claimed was an dirty hit during Sunday’s 31-14 New England win. Strickland suffered a concussion after being blocked by LeVoir on a play in the second quarter in which LeVoir’s helmet struck Strickland’s. “It was a real cheap shot,” Strickland told the Newark Star-Ledger. “He really didn’t have to go at my head like that, especially with the NFL’s precaution about helmet-to-helmet contact.” Strickland’s comments came on the same day Jets coach Rex Ryan said his team was “disrespected” by the Patriots on a deep pass in the final minute of the game. Strickland vowed to settle the score against LeVoir the next time the teams play. “It happened. It was a block and he took advantage of it,” he told the Star-Ledger. “But I guarantee you the next time we play them it’s going to be a different story. I’m making a point of emphasis to retaliate. That’s the way I feel.” The Jets and Patriots are not scheduled to play again this season.
