On the following night after WrestleMania at the start of RAW, “No Chance” hits, and Vince McMahon comes to the ring (selling the effects of the match from the night before) and goes on to the business that he has to attend to and reason why he came out to the ring. Last night, he lost to Bret Hart, and something hit him as he was back getting himself showered. Linda has left the company. Shane has left the company. Stephanie is married. Last night at WrestleMania, he was all alone. He’s done a lot of things in his time as the Chairman of WWE, but all of that fails in comparison to the sorrow that he put the Hart family through, in particular Bret. He thought that he could do whatever he wanted. Well last night, he found out that even the richest man in the industry can be all alone, and it all him home to him what he had done to Bret. He’s sorry for Montreal, and he should’ve never resorted to such tactics. What he’s trying to say is, “Bret, I’m sorry.” Vince asks Hart to come out to the ring, but understands if he doesn’t come to the ring. The Hitman’s music hits, and Hart comes out and explains that what Vince said is something that he’s waited all this time to hear. All this time, Hart just wanted an apology and never wanted to wait this long to farewell the fans that he’s loved for so long. Without them, his career never would’ve been possible. The fans are what made him the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be. Hart thanks the crowd and Vince. Vince offers a handshake, which Hart accepts and shakes before Vince raises Hart’s arm. Shawn Michaels slides in behind and hits Sweet Chin Music on Hart. Hart is out in the ring. Michaels leaves the ring.
They book a Street Fight for Backlash and build up from there. Michaels, methodically and with a grin, puts Hart in the Sharpshooter, but Hart reverses the Sharpshooter into the Sharpshooter. Michaels cries in pain and taps out, then send Michaels to SmackDown to start a feud with CM Punk.
