To me, the little details that you put in the longer post are what put it over the top and are needed. They're lost in the summarized version.

The best part however is, while I'd love to see him involved like you have it, I doubt they'd bring RVD back (or that he'd want to come back) for more than a night or two so he isn't even an integral part of the scenario and they could do something awesome like this with what they currently have with people not being used.
