Capitals do have to worry about creating a "SJ Sharks" effect where they become dominate in the regular season but then come up short in the playoffs each year. Although unlike the Sharks, they do advance more times out of the 1st round.

I dunno the Caps have made it to the finals but that doesn't mean anything since the current team is completely different. I think they won't have the Sharks effect. Ovechkin is different than Thornton. Also last year I would say that if they had beat the Pens they would have made it to the Finals. This year I'm thinking Caps/Hawks final.
