I think its generally pronounced "Mac" if followed by a suffix beginning with a vowel, and "Muck" if the next letter is a consonant.

Hence "MuckDonalds", "MacIntyre", "MuckMahon", "MacAdam", "MuckCartney", "MacIntosh" etc etc
