Goldust is one of the best characters in the history of pro-wrestling. I've been a fan for as long as I can remember. His ring work since some of his returns has been, well, pretty shitty. Goldust looked like he just didn't give a shit. ECW was sort of a comeback for "The Gilded Stranger" as he looked so motivated in the ring there. It's just recently that he's gone back to the robes, which were an essentially part of Goldust's character to me.
While I thought Goldust's time had come and passed, if they work some golden magic with "The Lone Star," I can't see any reason why he cannot do some great things. If Cody Rhodes moves to SmackDown!, a feud between the two would be so, so interesting.
And for the record, Goldust's finishing move these days is "The Final Cut." It's his suplex lift into a swinging neckbreaker. Almost like a one-man Au Revoir from the La Resistance days. The Curtain Call remains the classic. For a while, Goldust used a Neckbreaker they called the Curtain Call, but it got renamed to "The Director's Cut." It's easy to understand how Goldust's finishers are sometimes met with confusion.
So while I would be more than happy with a Goldust push, I would just like to point out that beating Mike Knox doesn't really mean anything. Nor does winning on house shows. Let's just see what happens after WrestleMania with The Golden Child.
