OT couldn't be an extra full quarter or even half quarter. Why? It'd take too long. A regular 4Q game often will run over the usual time given to it by CBS/FOX, let alone a game that had to play one or more extra quarters. And even if it's a shorter OT period wouldn't mean anything. The last 2 minutes of a half are the longest part of a game.

Plus, the NFLPA would never agree to it because, as someone else said, it gives the players more time to be injured. Bullshit to me, you make hundreds of thousands to millions and millions of dollars, just play the fucking game I play for free and get hurt doing at my own expense. Bullshit, but their reasoning nonetheless.
