I know the lineup isn't all there right now, but still the lineup that's getting run out there should be able to hit against pitchers of this caliber. I mean those pitchers are all 5th starters. I mean I'm a Lannan fan, but he's a pitcher that should be hit hard.

I agree with ya Vito, the guillotine should be getting raised already. I mean the black cloud is already coming in. A quick start would have held off the media from questioning the fates of Omar and Jerry, but tomorrow I expect ESPN Radio and The FAN to be all over the Mets, as they should be.

Who am I to say they can go out and beat the likes of the Rox and Cards, but right now it doesn't look promising at all.
The thing is...even if Manuel is canned I think the only guy who could make a difference in his spot is Bobby Valentine. Bobby V keeps his teams fired up and always seemed to get the most out of his players. The fans would probably be genuinely excited seeing Valentine in the dugout again.

Problem is, I highly doubt he gets brought on in mid-season. That role seems to already be reserved for Bob Melvin, who is already in the organization. I really don't like the idea of Bob Melvin being more than a temporary skipper, so I hope the '10 Mets won't pull an '08 Mets and play well under the new guy to keep him around.

Then there's Omar, who also has to go if this season doesn't work out. Replace him with Wayne Krivsky (already in the organization) or make a call to bring in Kevin Towers (who I'm sure has an out in his contract if he can get a GM job). Bobby V with Krivsky or Towers is what I'd like to see asap.

I hope just once this year we see a lineup of Reyes-Castillo-Wright-Bay-Beltran-Francoeur-Davis-Barajas...even if it's in September.
