I think everyone getting a title run who deserves one is what has cheapened most titles. Once every moderately over midcarder or tag team gets "a turn" with one of the belts, it isn't really anything special anymore.
It becomes more about who hasn't held it than who has.
Obviously there are some guys who deserve runs with midcard titles, or even world titles, but I'm not overly concerned with them getting them.
I think it's high time Christian get the strap, considering there's 2 of them, but that's about it.
Back in the day, you had all sorts of guys who were extremely deserving of the world title but they never got it. Piper, Dibiase, Perfect, Hall, etc.
Guys like Bret and Shawn took years to get that run they deserved. Austin deserved a run more than anyone in the business does today as early as 1996, but they waited and it was worth it.
When I see some of the new stars tearing it up, I'm not really in any hurry to see them win gold.
Also, I'd rather see a title like the US championship given to guys like CM Punk, Jericho, Edge, and even HHH. They're established, but there's no reason why they can't treat that as a secondary title that they "deserve." That way it means something when a guy like The Miz or Morrison wins it.
