Okay yeah I'm basically kinda tired of SRK right now. Jackasses seem to have put me and few others in Capcom's place and are venting their disapproval of SF4, TvC, and MvC3(!) to us. They keep trying to argue for broken elements Capcom itself are shutting down, but apparently we're still the fringe, erroneous few poisoning the forum. It's hilarious, but only for a little while... then it becomes annoying. It is exactly like hearing a creationist debate against logic and reason.
But anyway, some personal speculation on MvC3 so this post isn't a total waste:
- Now that the game is rendered in 3D I wonder what kind of effects we'll see for super moves. TvC and SF4 had cinematic finishers, it's safe to expect this presentation to return. Only better looking than TvC and crazier than SF4.
- Capcom mentioned easier move execution. While I still expect the traditional motion+button method, there's a good chance we'll see an evolution of Capcom's Easy-Auto setting (that they've been using in a few games). I think we'll see two main control settings, one for traditionals and one for casuals. The casuals may have something similar to CvS2's infamous EO control, but perhaps more similar to Blazblue's Drive button, where some manner of execution of still expected. Special and super moves may be nerfed in some form on this casual setting.
- Since there's a story for all this craziness I assume cutscenes and ending scenes will return. If Capcom is willing to drop dollar, these scenes could be real time cutscenes with the characters portrayed by their legacy actors. Capcom's SF and DMC VAs should be easy enough to commission, but I wonder if Marvel's side will feature returning stars from previous work. Steven Blum as Logan? Almost certain. I wonder if VAs from other Marvel games can do work for their characters appearing in this game. It would be cool.
- We have yet to see Capcom actually add content that wasn't on disc, so it would be interesting to see if Capcom would truly add characters in the true definition of downloadable content. Sadly, unlocking characters already in your seems like something Capcom would do (they sold unlock keys for SF4 costumes and RE5 multiplayer before). I'd love to be proved wrong, though.
Um... that's all?
