That sounds silly to me. You're American and the United States are in the World Cup so I don't see why you have to have 2 or 3 countries to "support". The World Cup is the ultimate symbol of patriotism. Even if you only take an interest every four years, you should stand by your nation. Wales haven't qualified in over 50 years, and fuck knows if they even will in my lifetime, so you don't know how lucky you are to have your country to follow in the tournament almost every time.
