I don't understand what's wrong with rooting for multiple teams. It's not as if we'd ever root against america. If any of these second or third picks go up against U.S., we will be rooting for U.S. I mean, it's not as if we paint our faces, buy jerseys, and go nuts for these other teams, like we do for the U.S.

Do you just not watch the world cup at all when your team is out?

It doesn't seem as fun to watch the world cup just to watch it, after your team gets knocked out. It's always more fun when you have someone to root for. If they win, it won't be even close to the same as your home country winning, because you don't have that emotional investment in the team, but it still feels good.
