What I hope they do (but they won't):
* Bret Hart goes over The Miz with some assistance from Bryan Danielson, due to the history between The Miz and Danielson.
* Hart forfeits the US Title the following week, and says that it was great to be the champion again, but this title means too much to be around the waist of a guy who shouldn't be in a ring anymore. He says it is a stepping stone to greatness, and he wants to announce a tournament involving all the guys on RAW that have not had an opportunity to be the US Champion. For those wondering, that currently includes Batista, Chris Jericho, David Hart Smith, Evan Bourne, Ezekiel Jackson, The Great Khali, John Morrison, Mark Henry, Primo, R-Truth, Randy Orton, Santino Marella, Sheamus, Ted DiBiase, Triple H, Tyson Kidd, Vladimir Kozlov, William Regal, Yoshi Tatsu and Zack Ryder. That's 20 guys, but if you remove the inactive ones (Triple H, The Great Khali and Ezekiel Jackson), you are left with 17. And lets also keep out Mark Henry, who can be selling injuries from his stuff with Batista.
-R-Truth defeats Ted DiBiase
-Chris Jericho defeats David Hart Smith
-Yoshi Tatsu defeats Vladimir Kozlov
-Tyson Kidd defeats Primo
-Randy Orton defeats Zack Ryder
-William Regal defeats Santino Marella
-John Morrison defeats Batista (an upset to really put over JoMo before Batista leaves)
-Evan Bourne defeats Sheamus (John Cena helps out to continue his tension with Sheamus)
So in the quarter-finals:
-Chris Jericho defeats R-Truth
-Tyson Kidd defeats Yoshi Tatsu
-Randy Orton defeats William Regal
-John Morrison defeats Evan Bourne
Semis:
-Chris Jericho defeats Tyson Kidd
-John Morrison defeats Randy Orton in an upset (perhaps with inadvertent heel help)
And we get the grand finals:
* John Morrison becomes the new WWE United States Champion by pinning Chris Jericho, setting up a feud with him over the US Title. The Miz can also get involved, which can sucker back in R-Truth for some tag team matches, and also involve The Hart Dynasty, if they keep their tension with Chris Jericho going. Bryan Danielson then also gets introduced to the RAW brand, and wants to be US Champion, as well.
