Yeah, I don't get why Perez is so against it. He'll still be getting paid and he may be able to save SOME face by going down. Steve Trachsel agreed to let the Mets send him down in 2001 after he became the only pitcher in team history to give up 4 HRs in one inning, and he wound up reinventing himself and having a solid career with the team.
Hell, even Jerry has jabbed him in the media:
Reporter: "Do you feel that keeping Ollie in long relief is a hindrance to the team?"
Jerry: "Only when we need a long reliever."
