I was just reading that the entire inGen plot wasn't even present in the book. It was about Dodgson and the rival corporation trying to steal material from the site, while Hammond's team was there. I'm not sure if it was to stop them or not.
Either way it sounds like a better idea, and one that should still be re-worked for any potential sequel.
