Right, it's a big deal and it really sucks and I feel bad for the kid, but here's the problem: it didn't affect the outcome of the game. The Tigers still won, and in the end that's all that matters. People are outraged and demanding changing the rules because an ump messed up a kid's stats, not because he made the Tigers have to get an extra out.

I want instant replay. I want something like the NFL challenge system in MLB. But all these people calling for instant replay now when they weren't calling for it before are overreacting and way off base. If umps costing a team a win isn't a good enough reason to install instant replay, then an ump costing a kid a perfect game isn't a good enough reason either.
