A perfect game is more than just stats though. It's not about his WHIP or ERA. It's about achieving a baseball milestone, that fans care a lot about. It's the same as other major accomplishments and records, which are more valued among the baseball community and fans than any other sport, arguably.

I agree there are lines. They can't go and reverse the decision after the game has ended, because that opens up the flood gates. I do think that there should have been something more done before they continued with the game, after such a glaring error that so many people cared and would continue to care about. I also think that it should serve as just another eye-opener to making potential changes, though. It's nothing I didn't feel already after some horrible calls in the past few years, including last post season.
