Well, I was thinking that too - but in NXT did they ever explicitly say they were competing for a contract? I know they were competing for a PPV title match, but I thought it was implied that they were all signed to WWE and could still wind up getting brought to Raw or SmackDown or something.

Who knows. If this is a work though, I'd be a bit miffed if they DIDN'T "fire" anybody else, just cause it doesn't make much sense.

I'd fire all of them except for Barrett...then SHOCK OF SHOCKS - they all show up to help him win the WWE Title at Fatal 4 Way or something.
