While we're on the subject of appearance type things. I liked the dark grey colored mat they used on the inside of the ring. WWE should use different colored ones as well.
All the things that have already been said are good, but one thing that stands out for me is the 3 hour show every monday. Not just that it was 3 hours, but that they usually hyped the main event very well throughout the show. By the time it came on you were dying to see what was going to happen. These days the WWE can hype a match (Benoit/HBK) for a few weeks and by the time it comes on I'd still rather watch hockey. Then what do I get if I actually watch the match? A shitty ending to set up a rehash of a very tired feud
I'm not saying WCW didn't disappoint on some endings too, but that's a different topic.
