This is the TV ending. As you can see, the shark explodes instantly from being rammed with a ship mast.
They even edit in a shot of the shark exploding from the first movie, which sticks out like a sore thumb.
The rest looks like a miniature I made in my bathtub.

Mario Van Peebles lives. He would later portray Solo and direct an episode of Lost.
