We didn't have things like graduation except for finishing 12th grade back then - seems pretty ridiculous to me actually. "Yay, little Johnny finished 3rd Grade! It only took him 3 tries!" Talk about playing into a kid's overblown sense of entitlement. What's next? "Yay, little Johnny showed up to school 2 out of 5 days this week! He deserves a party for such a great accomplishment!"
