Original plans in WWE were for Jack Swagger to be world champion until Summerslam. However, Dave Meltzer is reporting that WWE is talking about having Swagger drop the title at Fatal 4 Way this Sunday.
One idea being discussed is for Rey Mysterio to win the title and then face CM Punk in a title vs. mask match at Summerslam. Vince McMahon has been against having Mysterio as champion in the past, but lately is said to be more open to a smaller wrestler holding the title.

This would be absolutely amazing, Rey has been deserved a second title reign for a long time and Rey as champ can really spice up the Smackdown title scene. Swagger has been a horible WHC so far IMO, but Rey would really amp up the title scene on SD.
Plus more Punk/Rey matches arent only welcome...there ALLOWED! (Punk/Rey is always a great match). Imagine how awesome a title vs mask feud would be.
If there is one wrestling rumor I hope is true this year then definetely this. I hope Swagger doesnt retain that would mean more bad boring Smackdown shows. But I think Swagger will end up retaining because Mysterio was a late substitute for Taker and I dont think they change plans this quick.
But it never hurts to DREAM!
