You'd think that once the movie hit, with all the public incidents in it (driving the Repatar car thing, for example), the parents would have been investigated and probably had the kids taken away by the state. I mean, they're ALWAYS losing the kids in malls or stores or the beach or whatever. And the parents are all "THERE you are!" like it's a normal thing.

I think this show may have been made to bring attention to the fact that the state doesn't do enough to protect children.
