Well true. I can't stand Lebron too. I'm just mentioning that you guys have the Kobe allegiance too, and that whole thing has definitely become a topic of debate. I have no clue why, though. It's so clear that Kobe is in every way better at this point that it blows my mind to hear people argue it.

I also kind of can't stand the whole "who is the next Jordan?" thing. It's as if Michael Jordan is the end-all be-all of basketball. Is he the greatest player ever? Yes, probably, but the fact that he's a generational icon is a huge part of that too.
He was the face of basketball and still is. He was like Babe Ruth. I think the hunt is on to find the next pop-culture icon and Nike/McDonalds/Gatorade juggernaut more than it is to crown the greatest player.
There were great players before Jordan that are arguably as good or better than him. Nobody's talking about the next Wilt Chamberlain, Dr. J, Bill Russell, Magic or Bird etc.
I think it's more of a media creation than anything.

With that being said, it is my opinion that Kobe Bryant is the best player in the world atm
