I like Gremlins 2. I don't watch it as a sequel to Gremlins though. I watch it as its own movie where a large conglomerate has gremlins in the system and it just so happens their gremlins are the Gremlins from the first movie. I love that it is self-aware to the point of the gremlins infecting the movie reel. It's not a completely different direction from the first. The Gremlins get bigger and badder and the setting is different. I think maybe people didn't like the change in tone but I think it's good.
