as a child I enjoyed them as part of DX. Match quality wasn't something I looked for as a kid and I have not gone back and revisited any old DX/NAOL stuff since.
But from a child's perspective I thought they had a great gimmick and I never remember not liking them in the ring. So at very least they weren't boring.
