Round 2 recap fuckers! Reporting from Radio City Music Forum Hall
Round 2 kicking off with a sensible pick from Afterlife. Seems Ohio is some kind of breeding ground for non-dumb drafting. Christian provides the upside of potentially moving up the card whilst being safe in the knowledge he'll put points on the board in his current position anyway.
Swagger going at 12 to VSG is somewhat controversial as on one hand he's a recent WHC and on the other, he's probably not going to win many matches and his title aspirations will probably go unfilled during the course of this season. There were potentially better choices available but Swagger has shocked people before.
Wade Barrett divided many opinions before the draft, talk of him going in early in the 2nd (which turned out to be prophetic) and others seeing him drop as far as the 4th. More TV time and a continued role as the leader of Nexus should see him score points. However, he needs to be competing and any 'changes' to his current role could greatly affect his 'ability'. All that said, he's going to New England. Therefore he'll probably be WWE champion within a month.
Who knows why his stock dropped but former #1 overall pick Chris Jericho wound up being taken 14th overall. His versatility means he can go from scoring no points to huge points in no time at all and mike adamle and his organization will be as excited as Randy Savage at a bosses daughter convention to have him fall into their laps. Anything was going to be better than the 1st round pick and they hit gold here.
Ted DiBiase is going to be a STUD. Take it to the bank people. Unlimited upside, the only potential question mark is whether he can come in and produce straight away. If he does, the Supreme Olajuwons might just be here to play this season.
From the best pick of the draft to potentially one of the worst, I've never been a fan of big guys that see more than their fair share of the lights. I don't see Kane producing much over the long-term and that could spell a big waste of a draft pick given what was available in terms of weekly production. But hey, I've been wrong before.
lol nah j/k.
Commenting on the Tyson Kidd being picked 17th overall would be like kicking a puppy in the face. Is Bust Jaw secretly from Oakland?
Given his current form and standing going into the draft, Big Show would seem almost a steal at 18th overall. That said, his production can drop at any time and he does enjoy getting lazy and eating his way out of his spot. We'll see how it plays out.
John Morrison's abs looked like they were going to have a Ric Flair-esque breakdown in the green room waiting to be picked but much like Dolph Ziggler, it's not an entirely unwarranted wait. If these guys were going to be perennial all-pros, odds are we'd have seen some proof of that by now. Morrison probably should have gone earlier than the 19th spot he went at given his current standing and that Kane, Barrett and Kidd (lol) went before him but thepolianest taking Dolph at 20 should be a safe enough pick, which is a contrast to the following pick of CM Punk that could either become the greatest 3rd round pick of all time or a waste of time altogether.
