My point VEL is he wanted out of Toronto, and wanted to go to NY. So in fact he did go to NY out of his own desire.
He was a dick in TO. He wouldn't answer questions, he'd say check my website, blah blah blah... Don't know (or care) if he still does that, but I found as talented as he is and there's no denying it, he's an asshole.
Not resigning him as Duquette did, may have had as much to do with his attitude than him being washed up. I can't say I know that for sure, as I didn't and don't follow the clubroom chatter that closely of teams I'm don't follow.
