I'll change gears here. Derek Jeter may very well be the best live ball era shortstop of all time when all is said and done.
Cal Ripken is right up there as well, but if Jeter can end up with 300 homers, 1500 RBIs, 400 steals, close to 3,500 hits, and around a .310 career average (all of which he's very much in reach of), he'd have Ripken beat.
