It's true though, having Akuma would suck. Hell, why not Blanka? He's a classic character with a very different playstyle.
Which reminds me, I would love Beast. We need more McCoy in video games.
As for the mainstream issue, well hell... a lot of characters haven't been mainstream. Hell, every game they make a point of including some non-mainstream characters. So, you never know.
I mean really... Omega Red? Shuma Gorath? Yeah, because they're pop culture icons.
