The former ending would be the complete opposite tone of the rest of the series, and the latter ending would just be depressing as fuck. The series went out making the main thrust of the show, these characters' ongoing battle against evil for redemption, literal. They went down swinging, and I was happy. And in any case, if you wanna see the aftermath, go read the Angel: After The Fall comic series.

I respect your opinon. Much like LOST's ending some people liked it some were furious. I will have to look for those issues. I have a few of Spike vs. Dracula they were ok some better than others.
