Stephen King novel series. His magnum opas, so to speak. On the third book now, and it is awesome. Should check it out. Roland is this guy who is like a wild west gunslinger, but he doesn't come from the wild west. From this other world. Hes trained to be this warrior person, and at the start of the series he's the last one, and his world is post apocalyptic. It is way too surreal to try and explain, tbh.

Just know that Roland is like a combination of John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, and the Saint of Killers. Mad badass, and definitely a formula for how cable should have been written.
