Eddie is very old school and that means making impromtu storylines out of injuries. He called the finish since there was no point in him going over since he would be out of action anyway. The fact was it was on Smackdown and they could have retaped the Malenko match or changed the finish to the Benoit match to keep the score 2-1 but didn't for only reasons they know.
