Wireless security is kinda an oxymoron.

Those basic wireless routers dont have a huge range, so unless you're in an apartment, or have close neighbours, its not really a huge deal.

Just to give you an idea how insecure "secure" wireless connections are. A hotel here recently spent 18,000 bucks to have a wireless connection in each hotel room. Its supose to be a secure connection, especially for clients who do business transactions and stuff...I can release/renew a 192.168 IP from my notebook in my car in their parking lot...

Chances are, you wont get any leecher. If your dad is really that concerned, tell him to hardwire the connection instead. Wireless security is nowhere near good enough yet.
