They can't look at past San Francisco teams and say look at when we were the best. They can't look at a time when their city had the best baseball team in the world. There's no emotional connection to the New York teams. So just like fans in Houston, Dallas, Seattle, Tampa, DC, there is no connection to past championships that would "torture" fans like there is in Chicago and Cleveland. Also I don't even know how you can argue this when you didn't even mention you were a fan until the Giants were in contention.

What? There is absolutely an emotional connection between the San Francisco Giants and the New York Giants. The 1954 World Series may have been won by the New York Giants, but it's still a Giants victory. "The Catch", "shot heard 'round the world" are huge in the bay area.

The whole "your city has to win to be tortured" thing is stupid. There's been plenty of torture for this team, and it's fans for years. You can't just throw on this stipulation and null any frustrations non-pennant winning fans have.
