Mat wrestling adds depth. Mysterio is a great high flyer, but once you take the spots away from him, he's not a very deep wrestler... He's entertaining, but if he couldn't move like he does, he'd pretty much be worthless.

Liger on the other hand, you could take away his high flying moves, and he would still be an extremely solid worker who would still be entertaining.

Ultimately, this goes back to the thread where it was argued that it is basically impossible to judge and rate matches and wrestlers due to opinion. In my opinion, a wrestler who can actually mat wrestle, or wrestle other styles is going to be better than a wrestler who is using one general style... In Sports Entertainment type companies, this may not be as big of an issue, but if you watch puroresu, a diverse style is an excellent thing to have. Lyger has diversity, Noble has diversity, Mysterio is Mysterio, that's probably never going to change.
