What I'm saying is you would have never heard his music if he didn't have his dumbass gimmick. His music isn't good enough to be mainstream if he wasn't dressed up like a psedo-homosexual-kabuki-crossdresser. I'm not saying the guy isn't smart, but he is just such an attention hungry tool. And he can't get attention by making people like him, so he gets attention by "shocking" bible belt rednecks that would be shocked if they saw a negro in politics. He's famous because of his gimmick not his music, if you don't believe that then your dillusional.
