No, Shelton should not win the Battle Royale. Benoit needs a contender who's already over as a legit threat to the title, and can get the crowd going behind him. I think by now everyone's conceded to the fact that he's dropping the title back to Triple H at Summerslam, but before he does that, he needs one last big win to cement himself as a main eventer. Beating the guy who rolled up Triple H one time isn't going to help. That'll make Benjamin look weak because he can't really get it done in the main events, and it'll make the Champion look weak because he has trouble putting away a rookie. I have no doubt that Benoit vs Benjamin would lead to some damn good matches, but booking-wise it's not really the sort of thing you want to base a World Championship feud around.
Give Benjamin a feud with Orton and have him go over as the new I-C Champion for a few months, then we'll see if people want to see him in the main events.
