I don't see how you can say it's misleading. He has a theory, he tests it, he provides the results. How is that misleading?
If it's because "no one does that", well that's your theory. Test it and provide the results. Until then you're the one being misleading by simply suggesting that.
If you're saying it's because everyone already knows it, then it's not misleading because you are already conceeding it's a known quantity.
