I think he would have been the first year. The second year was a little different because everyone knew it was likely his last match going into it.
Everyone kind of got behind him and the story because they didn't want to see him go. Plus he's HBK.
It was his swan song.

Cole actually had a great call during that match (probably from Vince) that highlighted that whole thing. "Nobody wants the streak to end. Nobody wants the career to end. Something's gotta give tonight."
