how exactly did he show that he was bored? Did I miss something here? He seemed to show enthusiasm on Smackdown! Was he acting funny at a PPV, because I don't watch those
Out of his whole run in WWE, the best thing he had going for himself was his alignment with Lay Cool. It made him look like he belonged (plus it helped that McCool is Undertakers' wife, so he would've gotten the rub)

He should've atleast waited for a feud with Mysterio. It sure beats wrestling Mysterio-Lite.
Seems like the WWE schedule is too much for some guys. Dixie Carter made a deal with Kurt Angle where he can take a day off whenever he's not feeling good.
