I think the main thing I'm taking from this thread is that TNA hasn't established a number one good guy. It used to be AJ Styles, but he turned heel. Then there was Sting, who was over the hill and couldn't put on the matches they needed in the ME. Samoa Joe has never been given the ball and allowed to run with it. Then it was Christian, but he got shafted a bit when Kurt Angle showed up. Then Kurt turned heel. Now RVD might be the top guy, or maybe Mr. Anderson or Matt Morgan. It's just not clear.
In the WWE, we know who the number one guy is. Cena. Has been forever now. Perhaps on par (or slightly behind him) are Randy Orton and Triple H, then guys like Rey Mysterio and Undertaker right behind them. It makes for a clear cut idea of what will happen on RAW.
There are plenty of contenders for the #1 guy in TNA. Kurt Angle is the obvious choice. Despite his problems and injuries, Angle is the best talker and worker in the business today. They just need to make him face and focus on making him THE GUY in TNA: the one who the TNA World Title revolves around, and if not the World champion/contender, his storyline should be front and center. Right now he and JJ are playing second fiddle to this Immortals/Bischoff/Hogan/Flair bullshit, and frankly nobody gives a shit.
RVD, Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles are all contenders for the "top guy" spot too, but they aren't the total package in the way that Kurt Angle is. I thought they were going to take Mr. Anderson in that direction, but it seems he's been lost amongst all the other bullshit.
TNA is far too heel/face turn happy to establish a real #1 guy. But that is what they need. A poster boy.
