I always thought that Rob Van Dam and Jeff Hardy should have been brought in for the X-Division. Really drive home what an attraction that division is to talent, and how unique it is to TNA, by having RVD and Hardy say they wanted to come to TNA just to compete there. I think it also could have benefited from Kurt Angle stepping in to work that style with some of the guys. Don't tell me that a Kurt Angle vs. Alex Shelley match would not be awesome.
But Hogan and Bischoff have really made a mess of TNA (with Russo's help). Personally, I think the best thing they can do for the X-Division is look around for some amazing indy talent who can work the style, and work on getting them contracted while Frankie Kazarian and AJ Styles feud over the belt.
At Genesis, have Doug Williams defeat Styles with the Chaos Theory, which means Styles is out of Fortune. You can also have Kazarian defeat Jay Lethal to win his fourth X-Division Title, and The Motor City Machine Guns defeat Beer Money to retain the TNA World Tag Team Titles. That way Styles has both an inadequacy thing with Kazarian, but also isn't the only Fortune guy to lose. Sets up a pretty good face turn, which can culminate in Kazarian vs. AJ Styles for the X-Division Title at Lockdown.
