Make sure it is plugged in fully, also turn it off and on a few times and see if that changes anything. Then mess around with the settings. If you have another comp you could try hooking it up to that to see if it still makes the same noise. If it still does, you will have to replace it if you want the sound to stop. Probably not worth it as long as it still works.
